Cam Murphy

RUSTON, Louisiana, May 1, 2019 – A trust for the benefit of Cam Murphy, whose mother and brother, Kendra and Remington Butler, were the victims of the category EF3 tornado in Ruston on April 25, has been formed by Squire Creek Country Club, where Kendra was employed. Argent Trust Company will serve as trustee of the trust.

“We were devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Kendra Butler, our friend and co-worker, along with her son, Remington, during last Thursday’s tornado,” said Squire Creek General Manager Rick Maier. “We’ve received calls and emails from members who, like us, want to do something to help Kendra’s surviving son, Cam Murphy. We hope that by creating this trust to benefit Cam, we’ll help him in some small way as he copes with this terrible loss.”

Cam is a senior at Ruston High School and will graduate later this month.

“The tornado has affected so many in our community, but no one more than Cam,” said Argent Financial Group CEO Kyle McDonald. “Nothing can take away the loss of his mother and brother. However, by creating this trust, Squire Creek is doing one of the best things possible for his future. We take our responsibility as trustee seriously, and will do everything possible to ensure Cam is financially secure for many more years to come.”

Funds may be donated to the trust at any Origin Bank, First National Bank Century Next Bank, or donations may be made through a GoFundMe page established by Squire Creek at gofundme.com/cammurphyeducationandcarefund.
