SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA (JANUARY 28, 2016) — Chris W. Shankle, Senior Vice President of Argent Trust Company, has been appointed to the Tax Executive Committee for the American Institute of CPAs. The TEC is the senior body on tax matters for the AICPA and sets all tax policy for the organization.
This is an incredible honor for Chris. Argent congratulates him and knows he will do a terrific job.

The American Institute of CPAs is the world’s largest member association representing the accounting profession, with more than 412,000 members in 144 countries, and a history of serving the public interest since 1887. AICPA members represent many areas of practice, including business and industry, public practice, government, education and consulting.
The Tax Executive Committee (TEC) has general authority to speak and act on behalf of the AICPA in tax matters, including tax legislation, tax administration, ethical standards of tax practice, and information to assist AICPA members in maintaining and increasing their proficiency in taxes. The TEC plans, initiates, supervises, and coordinates all projects, programs, and activities of the Tax Division; and must approve all policy recommendations of the working groups and authorize all AICPA statements on taxation.
Chris joined Argent in 2015 and has over 25 years of experience. He has held several leadership positions within the AICPA.
