Veteran financial planner and trust officer will join Nashville office

NASHVILLE, Tennessee, April 12, 2018Argent Trust Company announced today that David Russell has joined its Nashville office as vice president and trust officer.

Russell is a veteran financial planner and trust officer with more than 34 years in the wealth management industry. In his new role, he will work with Argent Trust’s team of professionals in Nashville who manage and handle the administration of family, corporate and institutional trusts, asset custodial services and estate settlement.

“David’s knowledge gained from three decades helping organizations and families reach their financial goals will be of tremendous benefit to our customers,” said Kyle McDonald, chairman of Argent Trust Company and CEO of Argent Financial Group. “His unique skill set also includes a background in elder transition planning and education, which directly aligns with our company goal to provide thoughtful, customized counseling for the families we serve.”

Russell earned a bachelor’s in banking and finance at Mississippi State University and is a planned giving specialist, certified financial planner and certified senior advisor.

“I am excited to join Argent Trust’s Nashville office and get involved in the local community,” Russell said. “Kyle’s character and leadership has enabled the company to grow fast yet thoughtfully the past few years, and I knew after meeting him that I wanted to be a part of his team and provide tailored, fiduciary wealth management solutions in the clients’ best interest. Before joining Argent, Russell served for several years as a senior relationship manager for a Mississippi trust company. He is a member of the Mississippi Estate Planning Council and past president of the Mississippi Chapter Financial Planning Association.
