OXFORD, Mississippi, Oct. 11, 2018 – Argent Financial Group today announced the opening of a new office in Oxford for Argent Trust Company and its Argent Family Wealth Services division. The location at 613 South Lamar Boulevard, a National Historic Landmark building, accommodates a larger staff who provide a wider range of wealth management services.

Family Wealth Services Managing Director Mark Hartnett will lead the expanded team and focus on further growing Argent’s presence in Mississippi. He has more than 20 years of experience in trust management and administration. Harnett founded Family Wealth Practices in Oxford in 2008 and merged his company with Argent in 2014.

Hartnett has a law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law, as well as an MBA from the university’s School of Business Administration. Hartnett also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Memphis, majoring in finance.

Joining Hartnett at the new office are Brooks M. Campany, vice president and director of public relations, recruiting, engagement and culture for Argent Financial Group; and Blair M. Hull, associate of philanthropic services for Argent Institutional Services. Each recently moved with their families to Oxford and have been with the company in a variety of positions for several years.

Campany earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from the University of Mississippi, and then worked as a concierge banker at Avenue Bank (now Pinnacle Bank) in Nashville, Tennessee. She joined Argent in 2009 to open the company’s Nashville office. In addition to her role as vice president, she also serves as a trust officer, focusing on business development and managing relationships for clients in emerging markets for Argent.

Hull holds a Bachelor of Accountancy and Master of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. She has worked as an associate in advisory at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and chief compliance officer for Argent Advisors, Inc., before her move to the philanthropic services business line of Argent Trust Company in 2016.

The company also hired Austin McCarty to the position of trust assistant. Before joining Argent, McCarty was a portfolio analyst with CBRE Group, a commercial real estate services and investment firm. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Mississippi College.

“This is an exceptional year for company-wide growth at Argent, and I’m thrilled our office in Oxford is part of the focus on thoughtful, fiduciary financial services including my particular passion on wealth counseling,” said Hartnett. “Our new team has the right experience to carefully serve our clients who put their utmost trust in us.  Not only do we serve our client family’s desire to grow their financial capital, we also effectively guide each family in the stewardship of their spiritual, relational and intellectual capital as well. Our combined experience and company-wide support in trust administration, culture development and philanthropic efforts truly offers a white glove wealth management firm experience like no other in the South.”

“Mark helps client families structure the foundation on which strong family legacies are built. His service philosophies matched perfectly with Argent’s, and we’re looking forward to being able to offer his wealth counseling service to more families, each with unique needs and investment strategies,” said Kyle McDonald, CEO of Argent.  “In addition, we are proud to offer the most comprehensive fiduciary service available locally in Oxford with the opening of our Argent Trust office on South Lamar.”

“Our family has been a regular visitor to Oxford and have made deep connections over the past 15 years. As we watched Oxford grow, it became evident that the time was right for us to open an Argent Trust office and provide a wider array of client services beyond what Mark was already successfully providing,” McDonald added. “Argent is headquartered in Ruston, Louisiana, which shares many similarities with Oxford as a vibrant, economically thriving southern community.”

“I am thrilled to be back to put down roots in Oxford, having made so many fond memories and lasting connections with this community during my prior four years here,” said Campany. “My sister Blair and I are also looking forward to working together and living out our company culture every day to better serve the clients that have entrusted their financial and related dreams and needs to Argent.”

Argent Trust provides a broad array of trust and investment management services to individual and institutional clients. Argent Family Wealth Services offers a strong focus on family education, communication and mentoring.

An open house is planned at the new location later this month. For more information, visit www.argentfinancial.com or call 662.550.4443.
