Drew Blackburn
Argent Financial Group announced today that Andrew Blackburn has joined the company as property manager for the Argent Mineral Management division in the Ruston corporate office. Blackburn will report to David Luke, president of Argent Mineral Management.
In his new role, Blackburn will oversee project management, lease negotiations, title research, lease monitoring, and drilling and production research. Prior to joining Argent, he worked as an independent landman for more than 13 years. That role gave him experience in negotiating with landowners to acquire oil and gas drilling leases on behalf of oil companies.
Blackburn is a certified professional landman and member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen (ALTAPL). He has extensive knowledge of the oil and gas industry and experience in onshore drilling, leasing and contract negotiations.
“The Argent Mineral Management team is very fortunate to add Drew to our staff,” said Luke. “He brings a wealth of skill and experience in multiple facets of the land and minerals industries. And the relationships he has in the Ruston community will be an extra benefit to our team.”
“I am excited to join Argent Mineral Management and am proud to be a part of such a dedicated team,” Blackburn said. “I was drawn to this company because they understand the importance of helping clients maximize the full potential of their mineral rights. I am honored to work with them to continue the tradition of excellent service for mineral owners.”
Blackburn graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He recently delivered a presentation on ethics at the 2020 educational seminar of the ALTAPL.
Blackburn, his wife and six children live in Ruston and are all active members of the community. He currently serves on the Elder Board at The Bridge Community Church in Ruston.
