James has been with the company since 2004. His responsibilities include oversight of the Corpus Christi office, client service and business development in South Texas. He sits on the firm’s Investment Committee and the Trust Management Committee. He has been a shareholder since 2005.

James has been in the financial service industry since 1991. His career began as a financial analyst, progressing to the position of portfolio manager of Latin American and Emerging Markets common trust funds at Eagle Management and Trust in Houston, Texas. Upon his return to Corpus Christi in 1997, he became a broker and helped individuals and small businesses with investments, including retirement and college planning. Just prior to joining the company, Mr. Pettus had successfully run his own broker-dealer firm with two other partners. He holds several securities licenses including the Series 6, 7, 24, 53, 63 and 65 Licenses.

James has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from The University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Pettus is active in the community and sits on the board on several non-profit organizations.
