Senior Portfolio Manager – Shreveport, LA

Position Summary:

Argent Trust Company is an independent trust company with over $30 Billion in assets under advisement and a friendly corporate culture centered on delivering the highest level of client and investment services. This position reports to the Chief Investment Officer.

The primary role of the Portfolio Manager will be to collaboratively communicate and deliver investment management services to the individual, nonprofit, and corporate investment clients of Argent. Regular duties will include:

  • Responsibility for construction and management of diversified investment portfolios using a variety of strategies and vehicles. These responsibilities include (but are not limited to) daily activities of:
    • Coordinate, develop, and document the appropriate investment objectives, asset allocation guidelines, and appropriate investment strategies for the client base
    • Conduct portfolio reviews and communicate results to the client as appropriate
    • Perform rebalancing/trading analysis and execution for the firm
    • Place trades as needed in client accounts
  • Work collaboratively with team members, including other portfolio managers, the client service team, and other members of the Argent organization as appropriate
  • Serve on various internal investment decision-making working groups and committees
  • Assist with evaluation, screening, selection and management of mutual funds and other investment managers
  • Assist with economic analysis and research as needed for regular communications
  • Assist in research and evaluation of asset classes
  • Communicate complicated investment concepts to a varied client base
  • Participate in business development meetings with client service team and management

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 4  years experience with direct client portfolio management responsibilities
  • Undergraduate/Graduate, MBA degree, finance/economics preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates who hold the CFA® designation
  • Excel, Word, Power Point proficiency preferred
